Terms of sale
Last updated: 22 October 2026
1. Purpose and scope
These general terms and conditions of sale (hereinafter the "Terms") govern sales concluded between Maison Quivernay and any natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession (hereinafter the "Customer"), on the website quivernay.com or directly at the atelier.
Sales to professionals are subject to specific terms, available on request.
Placing an order implies acceptance of these Terms. The applicable version is the one in force on the date of the order.
2. Seller
Maison Quivernay

3. Products
The essential characteristics of the products (materials, composition, dimensions, making time) are presented on each product page. Maison Quivernay products are made of faux fur, with no material of animal origin.
Because the pieces are handmade, slight variations in shade or appearance may exist between them. These are inherent to handwork and do not constitute a defect.
4. Made-to-order pieces and bespoke creations
Made-to-order pieces. Most pieces are made after the order, according to the styles, sizes and colours offered on the website. These pieces remain standard items: they benefit from the right of withdrawal and the legal guarantees under the same conditions as other items.
Bespoke or personalised creations. Pieces made to the Customer's specifications (measurements, length, colours or finishes outside the catalogue, changes to a design) require prior written approval. In accordance with Article L.221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code, they are not covered by the right of withdrawal. They do, however, benefit from the legal guarantees set out in Article 10.
5. Prices
Prices are shown in the currency of the market concerned, excluding shipping costs. Applicable taxes and shipping costs are shown before the order is confirmed. For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties and import taxes may be charged by the destination country and are payable by the Customer.
The applicable price is the one displayed when the order is confirmed.
6. Order
The Customer selects the items, checks the contents of the basket and the total amount, corrects their information if necessary, then confirms the order, which entails an obligation to pay. An order confirmation is sent by email.
Maison Quivernay may refuse an order in the event of an unresolved earlier dispute, suspected fraud or manifestly incorrect information.
7. Payment
Full payment is required when ordering, including for made-to-order pieces. The accepted payment methods are presented during checkout. Payments are secured by the payment provider; Maison Quivernay never has access to the Customer's full bank details.
The products remain the property of Maison Quivernay until the price has been paid in full.
8. Delivery
The delivery time includes the making time shown on the product page and the shipping time shown in the Shipping policy. Failing any indication, delivery takes place no later than thirty (30) days after the order, in accordance with Article L.216-1 of the French Consumer Code.
Maison Quivernay is responsible for the proper performance of delivery. The risk of loss or damage to the products passes to the Customer when they take physical possession of them (Article L.216-4 of the French Consumer Code).
In the event of a delay, the Customer may, after asking Maison Quivernay to deliver within a reasonable additional period, terminate the contract if delivery does not take place within that period (Article L.216-6 of the French Consumer Code).
Free collection from the atelier is also possible when this option is offered at checkout.
9. Right of withdrawal
The Customer has fourteen (14) days from receipt of the order to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to give reasons (Articles L.221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). This right does not apply to the bespoke or personalised creations mentioned in Article 4.
To exercise it, the Customer informs Maison Quivernay of their decision before the deadline, by email to contact@quivernay.com or using the form in the appendix. They then return the product no later than fourteen (14) days after communicating their decision, to the following address: Atelier Maison Quivernay, 3 rue Alexandre Dumas, 75011 Paris, France.
Return costs are paid by Maison Quivernay for returns from mainland France. For other destinations, they remain payable by the Customer.
Maison Quivernay refunds all sums paid, including the initial shipping costs (up to the cost of the least expensive standard delivery offered), no later than fourteen (14) days after being informed of the decision to withdraw. The refund may be withheld until the product has been received or proof of its return has been provided. It is made using the same payment method as the one used for the order.
The Customer is only liable for any loss in value of the product resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning (for example, a piece worn outdoors or washed).
Practical details are set out in the Returns and refund policy.
10. Legal guarantees
All products sold benefit, independently of any commercial guarantee, from:
- the legal guarantee of conformity provided for in Articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, for two (2) years from delivery of the product. The Customer may obtain the repair or replacement of a non-conforming product free of charge or, failing that, a price reduction or the cancellation of the sale. Any defect appearing within two years of delivery is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery, unless proven otherwise;
- the guarantee against hidden defects provided for in Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code. The Customer may choose between cancellation of the sale and a price reduction. Action must be brought within two (2) years of discovering the defect.
To exercise these guarantees, the Customer contacts Maison Quivernay at contact@quivernay.com, giving the order number, a description of the defect and, if possible, photographs. They may also come to the atelier during opening hours.
The European information notice on the legal guarantee of conformity is available on the Warranties page.
11. Personal data
The data collected is necessary to process orders and manage the customer relationship. Its processing is described in the Privacy policy. The Customer has, in particular, rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection, which can be exercised at contact@quivernay.com.
12. Intellectual property
Maison Quivernay's designs, photographs, texts and visuals are protected by intellectual property law. Any reproduction without written permission is prohibited.
13. Mediation and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a problem, the Customer may send a written complaint to contact@quivernay.com. If no amicable solution is found within a reasonable time, they may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator Maison Quivernay is affiliated with:
Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice (CM2C)
14 rue Saint-Jean, 75017 Paris, France
www.cm2c.net · cm2c@cm2c.net
Failing agreement, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts, without prejudice to any more protective provisions applicable to the Customer in their country of residence.
